I'm Rory,18 years old, i'm currently studying Level 3 Media B-TEC.
I enjoy photography and anything related to films.
Once we entered the studio it didn’t start off well, we had to wait 5 minutes because the camera battery was dead, so I spent those 5 minutes making sure I knew what shots I wanted. Once we got a new battery it was Corvelle’s who had to get his pictures taken, which was frustrating because they spent about 10 minutes trying to get 2 pictures of him because he hadn’t decided what kind of pictures he wanted. After that it was Sam’s turn, thankfully that didn’t take too long, neither did Miquel, although during Miquel’s turn, Corvelle knocked over one of the lights, after that we couldn’t tilt the light down because it was too hot too touch. Then it was my turn, i didn’t spend too long on mine because I already knew what shots I wanted, for the first picture I took it by myself with all 3 lights on, it was a close up of half of my face and then I had Oscar take the second picture for me, it was a wide shot with the back light turned off.
I’d say my strengths for this activity were probably being able to plan ahead what kind of shots I wanted to have taken and being able to have them taken quickly so I didn’t take up anyone else’s time. My weakness was most likely getting easily distracted instead of seeing how other people were having their photos done. The only things that didn’t were the camera running out of battery and one of the lights being knocked over.
If I were to do it again I would definitely try to focus more on what i’m meant to be doing, plan more shots instead of two (just as back up) and better communication with my group so they know what I want to be done. In this activity I learned that I can’t always rely on other people in the group because they may not care as much and also that I should pay more attention.
